Technician – Fiber Optic Production

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Technician to join our client’s manufacturing team in Shakopee, Minnesota. The role focuses on building and assembling fiber optic products while supporting moderate‑volume production.

Key responsibilities

• Build samples and production assemblies of fiber optic components according to schedule.
• Collect, read, and record product test data in internal systems or Excel spreadsheets.
• Communicate any issues promptly to engineers or operations leads.
• Operate a variety of manufacturing tools, lab test equipment, and fiber optic handling devices after training.

Required profile

• Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology, electronic systems, metrology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work accurately within a team environment.
• Experience with electrical or fiber optic wire products and small components is preferred.
• Prior exposure to a laboratory or manufacturing setting is a plus.
