Technical Program Manager – New Product Introduction

About the role

The Technical Program Manager will drive the technical and operational success of new product introduction and sustaining programs for ferrule production, guiding projects from development through hyperscale volume manufacturing. You will lead cross‑functional engineering teams and act as the primary technical escalation point to ensure production readiness and quality targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Drive contract manufacturer preparation for pre‑production builds and ensure technical readiness for hyperscale volume production.
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for ferrule production issues, leading root‑cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
• Lead a cross‑functional team of Product Engineering, Supplier Quality, Test Engineering and DFx to guide new product introduction through mass production.
• Assess and improve process design, yield, and manufacturability, partnering with DFx and process engineering.
• Evaluate new process technologies and equipment to enhance quality, throughput and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant engineering field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in product, process or manufacturing engineering or technical program management within hardware/optics manufacturing.
• At least 5 years leading new product introduction programs from development to mass production.
• Hands‑on experience with root‑cause analysis methodologies (8D, DMAIC, fishbone) and corrective‑action processes.
• Three or more years working directly with contract manufacturers on process qualification and production ramp‑up.

Required skills

• Root‑cause analysis techniques (8D, DMAIC, fishbone/Ishikawa).
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis (Cpk/Ppk).
• Design for Excellence (DFx), including Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).
• Experience with PLM and MES systems (e.g., Windchill, SAP QM, Minitab).
• Knowledge of fiber‑optic ferrule manufacturing processes and high‑volume hyperscale production.
• Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
