Technical Product Owner – Identity & Access Management

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Technical Product Owner to lead the Identity and Access Management (IAM) product portfolio. In this full‑time role you will shape the digital experience for patients and employees, guiding the product from concept through delivery and ongoing maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, including concept, scope, design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Champion the product internally and externally, defining clear goals, KPIs and adoption strategies.
• Conduct user research, translate findings into user stories and prioritize the product backlog.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—UX, design, development, marketing, operations and vendors—to define vision, roadmap and release plans.
• Create product artifacts such as wireframes, process workflows, state‑transition diagrams, acceptance test plans and personas.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and internal controls throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex software products, preferably in IAM or related security domains.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret quantitative data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills to act as the voice of the user within development teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
