Technical Product Manager, Observability (Remote US)
Mirantis
Job description
About the role
Mirantis is looking for a Technical Product Manager to own observability for k0rdent AI, its control plane for GPU infrastructure and distributed AI workloads. You will define the observability strategy, roadmap and feature priorities so that operators can see the health, performance and resource usage of GPU clusters running large-scale training and inference. The role works closely with engineering, marketing and customers.
Key responsibilities
- Own the vision, roadmap and priorities for k0rdent AI observability across GPU compute, east-west fabric (InfiniBand, RoCE), high-performance storage, DPU/SmartNIC telemetry, workload schedulers, inference serving and data services.
- Translate requirements from GPU clouds, NeoClouds, telcos, sovereign clouds and enterprise platform teams into clear product direction, partnering with engineering on requirements and trade-offs.
- Manage the observability backlog using feedback from production deployments and design partners.
- Track and shape responses to emerging observability standards such as OpenTelemetry, DCGM GPU metrics, InfiniBand/RoCE counters, storage telemetry APIs and AI workload profiling.
- Define integration strategies for vendor telemetry (NVIDIA compute, BlueField DPUs, storage platforms, workload managers, inference stacks, vector and relational databases) into a unified operator-facing observability plane.
- Work with product marketing and field teams on positioning, technical briefs and reference architectures, and represent Mirantis with customers, analysts and ecosystem partners.
Required profile
- 5+ years in product management or a senior technical role owning an observability product or operating large-scale monitoring infrastructure.
- Strong technical fluency in observability tooling and the AI infrastructure stack.
- Ability to work directly with engineering on technical trade-offs and with field teams in competitive GPU cloud and NeoCloud deals.
Required skills
- Working knowledge of Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing (Jaeger, Tempo) and log aggregation (Loki, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch).
- Fluency in Kubernetes observability, cloud-native monitoring, or metrics and alerting pipeline architecture.
- Strongly preferred: GPU observability (DCGM metrics, AI workload profiling), east-west fabric telemetry (InfiniBand counters, RoCEv2 congestion metrics), high-performance storage telemetry (IOPS, latency, throughput), NVIDIA BlueField DPU telemetry, and visibility for SLURM, vLLM, Triton, TensorRT-LLM and vector database telemetry.
