Technical Engineering Specialist

About the role

Electronic Coating Technologies (ECT) is seeking a Technical Engineering Specialist to join its engineering team in Clifton Park, New York. The role supports manufacturing operations, provides technical expertise to production, engineering, and sales teams, and helps drive business growth through process optimization and customer support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for coating, potting, encapsulation, and gasket manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Manage technical projects that validate process changes, equipment upgrades, and customer requirements.
• Optimize plant operations to improve efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate material and process trials for new product introductions, including test matrix design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Assist customers with manufacturing launches, evaluating process efficiency and proposing alternative solutions.
• Deliver technical guidance to internal teams, channel partners, and external customers via phone, chat, video, or online platforms.
• Support quoting efforts by evaluating application recommendations and process technology proposals.

Required profile

• Technical education preferred and ability to read technical drawings.
• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment with production operations.
• 2+ years experience with specialty materials or chemicals and technical customer support.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work both collaboratively in a team and independently when required.

Required skills

• SolidWorks or similar CAD software (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Comfort with Windows‑based software applications.
