Technical Consultant - System Engineering (ArcGIS Enterprise)

About the role

Esri's Professional Services team in Charlotte is hiring a Technical Consultant focused on system engineering for ArcGIS Enterprise. You will work directly with customers to design, deploy, migrate and support enterprise-scale GIS systems, with an emphasis on high availability, disaster recovery and Kubernetes-based architectures. The role suits someone with experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise who wants to deepen expertise across cloud, data storage, authentication and information security.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in enterprise migrations, architecture modernization, system recovery confidence exercises and disaster recovery protection, and proofs of concept for advanced ArcGIS Enterprise deployments
• Resolve system challenges and perform advanced troubleshooting, and lead upgrades and deployments of ArcGIS Enterprise and databases
• Work with Windows, Linux and Kubernetes-based deployments
• Apply knowledge of relational databases, NoSQL stores, object storage, SAN and NAS, and of authentication methods such as native credentials, domain-based auth, SAML/OIDC
• Use server-side servicing stack models, TCP/IP, DNS, routing and TLS, and apply repeatable system engineering methods
• Communicate technical concepts to customers, executives and technical and non-technical audiences, and mentor less-experienced colleagues

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience implementing and supporting enterprise GIS systems
• Experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, GIS or a related STEM field
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Required skills

• System administration of Windows, Linux and/or Kubernetes
• Scripting or programming such as shell scripting, Python or PowerShell
• Networking concepts including HTTP, TCP, TLS, DNS, firewalls and proxies
