Senior GIS Solution Engineer - State Government (Southeast)

About the role

Esri is hiring a Senior GIS Solution Engineer for its state government account team in the Southeast region. As a GIS subject matter expert, you identify the right analysis tools for each customer's problem, advise customers on their most complex business challenges and demonstrate the value of GIS technology. The role is based in Charlotte.

Key responsibilities

• Present, demonstrate and support the sale of Esri software and solutions as part of the account team, reaching technical enterprise-level decision makers and leading technical meetings that drive revenue.
• Act as a technical leader of Esri technology and a subject matter expert in local government, understanding business structures, workflows, third-party systems and integration points, and coaching new team members.
• Propose solutions that show how GIS addresses customers' critical challenges and deliver complex strategies aligned with their business needs.
• Create presentations for technical and non-technical audiences, provide configuration guidance and best practices, and present at large conferences and executive engagements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with Esri technology (mapping, spatial analysis, web applications).
• 3+ years of experience in local government.
• Demonstrated technical consulting and conceptual solution design experience.
• Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, engineering or a related field; visa sponsorship not available, U.S. work authorization required.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%.

Required skills

• Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context (hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud computing).
• Geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology.
• Cloud computing (Microsoft Azure or AWS) and integration with data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP and analytics platforms.
• Programming and scripting in Python and JavaScript.
• Troubleshooting Esri application deployment and system architecture.

• Estimated base salary of $98,592-$173,576 USD.
