Tech Support Principal Engineer

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a Tech Support Principal Engineer to join its Global Technical Support team, providing expert assistance and training for its industrial software used by leading companies.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer queries ranging from basic usage questions to complex modelling investigations.
• Collaborate with end‑users, including technical experts, to understand workflows and deliver detailed technical advice.
• Develop training materials and deliver training courses.
• Track, prioritize and ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
• Coordinate investigations across multiple internal teams.
• Work closely with Sales, R&D, Services and Project Management to address queries efficiently.

Required profile

• 10+ years of industry experience in the Oil and Gas sector, specifically refinery economics.
• Strong numerical background with a degree or Ph.D. in mathematics, engineering or physical sciences.
• Proven ability to analyse technical requirements, solve detailed problems and communicate solutions to varied audiences.
• Experience presenting technical topics to clients or groups.
• Motivation to continuously learn and deepen technical expertise.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
