Tax Staff – Public Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a CPA‑qualified tax specialist to join a public accounting team in Florida. The position is ideal for professionals who enjoy hands‑on tax return preparation, building strong client relationships, and delivering accurate, timely work in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, trust and high‑net‑worth tax filings with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
• Act as the primary client contact, gathering documentation, answering tax‑related questions and following up on outstanding items.
• Respond to tax authority notices and communicate on behalf of clients when issues arise.
• Organize and maintain client tax records, workpapers and supporting documentation to keep engagements audit‑ready.
• Partner with firm leadership to address client needs, resolve tax matters and support ongoing planning.
• Utilize tax preparation and accounting software to complete returns efficiently.
• Own assigned engagements from document collection through final delivery, meeting established deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (required).
• Active CPA license (required).
• Prior experience preparing tax returns in a public accounting or client‑focused services setting.
• Working knowledge of individual, corporate, partnership, trust or high‑net‑worth tax engagements (preferred).
• Comfort interacting directly with clients and handling tax notices (preferred).
