Tax Manager – Real Estate (Hybrid, NY)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager specializing in real estate to lead tax compliance, planning, and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of real‑estate clients. The role is based in New York, NY and offers a hybrid work arrangement, reporting to senior leadership and supervising junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review federal, state, and local tax compliance for real‑estate entities, including partnerships, corporations, LLCs, and REITs.
• Oversee preparation and review of partnership tax returns (Form 1065), K‑1s, and related schedules.
• Lead complex tax matters such as partnership allocations (704(b), 704(c)), Section 754 elections, opportunity zones, 1031 like‑kind exchanges, and cost segregation studies.
• Provide tax planning and advisory services for acquisitions, dispositions, and entity structuring.
• Research, resolve, and document complex tax issues through technical memoranda and recommendations.
• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and workflows to ensure timely delivery.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior team members while building strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting with a focus on real‑estate taxation.
• Strong knowledge of partnership taxation and real‑estate tax regulations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and lead teams.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• High ethical standards and resilience under pressure.
