Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Manager to join a leading public accounting firm that specializes in the oil and gas industry. The role involves delivering tax compliance, planning, and advisory services to a diverse client base, while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and individuals in the oil and gas sector.
• Conduct comprehensive tax research and stay current with changes in tax laws and industry practices.
• Provide tax planning and advisory services to optimize client tax positions and minimize liabilities.
• Collaborate with clients to gather information, analyze financial data, and prepare supporting documentation.
• Assist with tax audits, respond to tax authority inquiries, and prepare notice responses.
• Mentor junior staff, ensuring accuracy and quality of their work.
• Maintain and strengthen client relationships by delivering trusted advisory services.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification.
• Significant experience in tax compliance, planning, and advisory, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
