Tax Manager (Full-Time or Part-Time, Remote)

About the role

Red Bike Advisors is seeking a Tax Manager who can work full‑time or part‑time in a fully remote environment. The role blends strategic tax planning with hands‑on return preparation, and it involves leading a team of tax preparers while delivering high‑quality, client‑focused outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end tax process for a multi‑million‑dollar client portfolio, from planning through filing.
• Review and sign tax returns, ensuring accuracy and alignment with each client’s strategic objectives.
• Conduct or delegate complex tax research and develop proactive tax strategies.
• Coach and hold tax preparers accountable to turnaround and quality standards.
• Meet with clients to discuss tax positions, identify planning opportunities, and document repeatable processes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience managing tax projects and leading junior staff.
• Strong client‑service mindset with the ability to translate technical tax concepts into actionable advice.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, KPI‑driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax law.
• Proficiency in tax return preparation and filing.
• Ability to perform advanced tax research.
