Tax Innovation Data Engineer – Senior Associate

About the role

PwC is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Tax Innovation practice as a Data Engineer. In this position you will design and build robust data infrastructure that turns raw tax data into actionable insights, supporting client decision‑making and business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop data infrastructure and systems for efficient processing and analysis.
• Implement data pipelines, integration, and transformation solutions using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Develop data architecture and modeling strategies to optimise data flow and storage.
• Build and maintain data lakes and warehouses, including Snowflake.
• Apply database management and security best practices to ensure data integrity.
• Conduct data validation and quality checks to support accurate insight generation.
• Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Perform performance tuning and query optimisation to enhance system efficiency.
• Support the development of data strategy and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• At least a Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Preferable background in Analytics/Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics or related fields.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Azure Data Factory.
• Experience using Microsoft Azure Databricks.
• Strong data modelling and architecture skills.
• Hands‑on experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse.
• Knowledge of data lake and data warehouse concepts.
• Ability to perform data validation, quality checks, and performance tuning.
