Tax Accountant

About the role

The Tax Accountant will report directly to the Tax Manager and support the company’s tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This role involves preparing income tax returns, assisting with ASC 740 financial statements, and supporting sales and use tax reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file federal, foreign, state, and local income tax compliance filings.
• Maintain the tax calendar to track statutory and internal filing deadlines.
• Prepare miscellaneous state business tax reports and assist with tax examinations.
• Handle federal, state, and local tax notices and maintain a notice tracker.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of sales/use tax returns and provide analytical support to the sales tax team.
• Coordinate identification, reporting, and resolution of tax‑related system issues.
• Support tax‑related testing for new systems, upgrades, or rewrites.
• Assist with wine excise tax returns and state sales/use tax audit administration.
• Contribute to special projects assigned by tax department management.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple filing deadlines.
• Experience with income tax compliance and ASC 740 reporting.
• Familiarity with sales and use tax regulations and audit processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Tax Manager and other tax specialists.
