Takeoff Technician

About the role

Watson Civil Construction, Inc. is seeking a Takeoff Technician to join its estimating team in Florida. The role supports senior estimators on heavy civil and roadway projects, providing accurate quantity takeoffs and helping prepare competitive proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and related project documents.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, and roadway items using company software.
• Enter and update data in estimating and takeoff tools such as HCSS, Agtek, and Bluebeam.
• Assist in organizing bid documents, maintaining project files, and gathering subcontractor quotes.
• Support the maintenance of standardized takeoff templates and historical quantity databases.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in construction, civil engineering, or a related field (internship or field experience accepted).
• Familiarity with reading civil construction plans and basic measurements.
• Associate degree or coursework in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work both independently and within a team.
