Systems Engineer, Propulsion

About the role

BETA Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to drive the development of electric propulsion systems for next‑generation aircraft. The role involves close collaboration with software, electrical, mechanical and certification engineers in a vibrant, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate propulsion system and component requirements.
• Conduct system integration activities, including interface definition, hardware/software test support, and system‑to‑system integration testing.
• Plan, coordinate and execute verification activities across multiple engineering disciplines.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in mechanical, electrical, software, aerospace or systems engineering.
• 3+ years experience applying SAE ARP4754A, ARP4761 or equivalent processes.
• Experience with Title 14 CFR parts 23, 25, 27, 29, or 33.
• Proven ability to work within a structured development process and communicate with regulatory authorities.

Required skills

• SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761 processes.
• Title 14 CFR parts 23, 25, 27, 29, 33 compliance.
• MATLAB and Simulink for model‑based development.
• Polarion or equivalent ALM tool.
• Embedded control systems, motor control and inverter design.
• Requirements‑based testing for complex electronic systems.
