Systems Engineer III

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Systems Engineer III to design, develop, and qualify complex components, modules, and subsystems for advanced semiconductor and display equipment. The role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet market requirements and support system integration.

Key responsibilities

• Complete definition and design of complex components, modules, and subsystems.
• Contribute to system engineering specifications across multiple disciplines.
• Coordinate with project marketing and management to understand subsystem requirements.
• Lead architecture brainstorming sessions and drive the selection of final subsystem architectures.
• Conduct detailed engineering analysis and evaluate architectural approaches.
• Build and qualify prototypes or procure subsystems from suppliers, testing for compliance.
• Identify and troubleshoot difficult engineering problems, including serviceability and manufacturability.
• Support system integration during assembly and final testing, performing reliability tests and making necessary design changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 4‑7 years of relevant engineering experience.
