Systems Engineer – HPC & Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

Join a leading quantitative trading firm to design, support, and operate high‑performance compute and storage infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments, enabling the firm’s systematic trading strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, support, and operate high‑performance compute and storage infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments.
• Maintain large‑scale Linux systems covering compute, storage, networking, automation, and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across OS, storage, networking, and cluster scheduling layers in collaboration with other teams.
• Manage and optimise batch and containerised workloads on CPU and GPU resources.
• Develop and improve cloud infrastructure on GCP, AWS, and Azure.
• Build and maintain HPC management tools, user access modules, and internal libraries.
• Create metrics and observability pipelines to analyse performance and drive cluster utilisation improvements.
• Automate manual workflows to enhance reliability and user experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience with Linux systems, DevOps, HPC, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong understanding of Linux internals, networking fundamentals, and hardware components.

Required skills

• Linux system administration and internals.
• Batch schedulers such as Slurm or HTCondor.
• Distributed storage systems (NFS, Weka, object storage).
• Cloud platforms: GCP, AWS, Azure.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools: Ansible, Terraform, Salt.
• Scripting/programming: Python, Go, Bash.
• Container technologies: Docker, Podman, Kubernetes.
• Networking basics (TCP/IP, Ethernet).
