Systems Engineer – High & Low Voltage Power

About the role

BETA Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in high‑voltage and low‑voltage electrical power storage, generation, and distribution to help revolutionize electric aviation. The role involves working within a cross‑functional team to develop safe, compliant aircraft power systems.

Key responsibilities

• Architect safe, novel electrical power systems using ARP4754 development processes.
• Generate, manage, validate, and verify aircraft, system, and component requirements.
• Perform hands‑on aircraft and system integration for development and certification testing.
• Create certification and qualification documentation, including plans, procedures, and test reports.
• Support ARP4761 safety analyses and interact with regulators and DERs.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience with SAE ARP4754A, ARP4761, and aerospace certification processes.
• 3+ years applying RTCA DO‑160G environmental test procedures.
• 3+ years interfacing with DO‑178C software development processes.
• BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Required skills

• High‑voltage/low‑voltage power system design and analysis.
• Battery system knowledge, including RTCA DO‑311A and SAE J1772.
• Electrical circuit design, load analysis, and circuit protection analysis.
• Familiarity with Part 23, 25, 27 aircraft regulations.
• Scripting or test‑automation experience.
• Use of Polarion or similar ALM tools.
