Systems Administrator / Service Desk

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Systems Administrator / Service Desk professional to help design, implement, manage and sustain IT operations across network environments for its customers. The role is onsite, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, with occasional Thursday evening patching and occasional travel.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain multi-user computer systems and monitor CPU, disk, memory and response times
• Perform security administration: account creation, user profiles, workstation/server imaging and access control
• Install and configure software, set up administrator accounts, maintain documentation and tune performance
• Provide Tier 1-2 support, distinguish isolated issues from enterprise-wide problems and work in a JIRA ticketing environment
• Support Windows and Linux systems, and install and troubleshoot workstations, thin clients, printers, scanners and phones
• Handle customer issues, repairs and returns, and recommend hardware and software purchases
• Collaborate with systems and network engineers on deployments and rollouts, and provide backup recovery support
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including logical and physical diagrams

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in an enterprise IT environment doing systems administration and/or end-user support
• One or more IAT certifications: Security+, SecurityX (CASP+), or CISSP
• One or more vendor certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, NetApp, Pure Storage, HP, Dell, Linux+, RedHat); if not held, must be obtained within 6 months of hire
• TS/SCI security clearance required
• Bachelor's degree preferred; prior military experience preferred
