Systems Administrator

About the role

Join the nation’s only repository for transuranic nuclear waste as a Systems Administrator. You will support the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) IT environment, ensuring high availability and security of critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot VMware virtual server environment.
• Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft Windows Server virtual and physical machines.
• Administer VMware/Omnissa Horizon View components, including vCenter, Composer, and Connection servers.
• Manage Active Directory Domain Services, Certificate Services, DNS, Group Policy, and File/Print Services.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) servers.
• Perform system backups, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Deploy and maintain rack‑mount, blade servers, and SANS storage arrays.
• Create and maintain configuration‑management documentation.
• Support IT security standards based on NIST guidance.
• Provide customer support and on‑call after‑hours assistance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of related experience, or equivalent education/experience combination.
• U.S. citizenship (except limited circumstances) and minimum age of 18.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to support on‑call and after‑hours duties.
