About the role
The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) IT Department is seeking a full‑time Systems Administrator to work onsite in Miami, Florida. The role focuses on maintaining and administering Windows‑based networks, servers, and related hardware to ensure optimal performance and rapid recovery from incidents.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor system logs and server activity, responding to alerts and incidents.
- Replace defective hardware on client machines and servers.
- Install, maintain, and update project and task‑tracking tools.
- Manage Windows account creation, changes, removals, and security settings.
- Maintain Windows file and print servers and ensure data integrity on enterprise file servers.
- Research, install, and test software updates and patches across operating systems.
- Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations for major hardware/software purchases.
- Update hardware/software inventory and document changes.
- Provide training on Windows systems for staff and consultants.
- Develop and support service level agreements with user departments.
- Prepare and monitor budgets for functional areas.
- Manage over 20 security‑related production servers and associated peripherals for public safety applications.
- Deploy and upgrade client workstations across the UHealth campus and satellite locations.
Required profile
- Proven experience administering Windows servers and Active Directory.
- Strong hardware troubleshooting and replacement skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced healthcare IT environment.
- Experience documenting processes, inventories, and budgets.
