System Test Engineer

About the role

CACI is hiring a full-time System Test Engineer in Lisle, Illinois, to test software across IP/telecommunication systems on multiple hardware platforms running Linux and/or Unix-based operating systems. The role sits under direct supervision, with up to 10% travel to other CACI locations or customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Work with engineers to design and write detailed test plans and run tests on complex communication systems
• Define and communicate basic test strategies
• Document defects and work with engineers on defect characterization
• Use automation tools and lab test equipment, including protocol analyzers, in a telecommunications development lab
• Work in a team environment and travel to other CACI locations or customer sites as needed
• Follow CACI ethical and compliance policies and EH&S safety procedures

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, with 0-2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of skills, education and experience
• No security clearance required to start; Top Secret clearance is required for continued employment

Required skills

• Experience with development tools (editors and compilers)
• Knowledge of Microsoft software and other applications as required
• Desired: familiarity with software engineering processes from requirements review to component delivery and sign-off
• Desired: knowledge of Windows and Unix/Solaris/Linux servers, workstations and networks
• Desired: knowledge of IP-based telephony architecture, configuration and maintenance
