System Administrator – Contract (Austin, TX)

About the role

We are seeking a contract System Administrator to join the technical services team supporting the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA). The role is hybrid, based at our Austin office, and focuses on maintaining and modernizing the board's Windows server environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and update physical and virtual server hosts.
• Manage virtual storage and backup solutions.
• Implement security parameters and certificate renewals.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and support procedures.
• Administer system and user accounts, server licensing, and software applications.
• Provide identity and access management for on‑premises and cloud systems.
• Collaborate with the Information Resources team both on‑site and remotely.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience with Microsoft Windows Enterprise environments.
• Hands‑on experience with on‑premises physical servers and virtual devices (domain controllers, file, Exchange, application, print, and content management servers).
• Familiarity with storage, backup, and security certificate management.
• Experience co‑managing Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
• Basic knowledge of firewalls, SIEMs, network switches, and licensing.
