Surgical Technician – TOSH In‑House Agency

About the role

This temporary, part‑time PRN position supports surgical cases at The Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital (TOSH) on a 13‑week schedule, working 36 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble supplies, set up and maintain the sterile field, and pass instruments during surgeries.
• Prepare the operating room, ensure availability of instrumentation and equipment, and assist with instrument reprocessing.
• Coordinate care with surgeons, nurses, and team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain case‑ready status of ORs for subsequent procedures and attend departmental in‑services.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an NBSTSA‑accredited or NCCT‑approved Surgical Technology program, or equivalent military training.
• At least 1 year of operating‑room experience with orthopedic exposure.
• BLS certified (AHA) and current Surgical Technician certification.

Required skills

• Valid Surgical Technology certification.
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
• Orthopedic surgical experience.
• Knowledge of OR equipment maintenance and safety.
