Surgical Technician 2 – Certified (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician 2 to support surgical procedures in the Lennar Foundation operating suite. This full‑time position ensures a sterile environment, prepares instruments, and assists the surgical team throughout each case.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite and maintain environmental safety for patients and staff.
• Practice aseptic technique to uphold a sterile field during procedures.
• Label medications and solutions on the surgical field.
• Return used instruments for decontamination and restock supplies for subsequent cases.
• Participate in stocking sub‑sterile rooms and manage inventory of surgical supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and employee information.
• Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and assist with inventory ordering.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in a relevant surgical specialty.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a surgical technician.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to university core values and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
