Surgery Scheduler (Level 2)

About the role

The Surgery Scheduler 2 serves as the primary liaison between patients, clinical staff, and physicians to schedule and coordinate surgical and diagnostic procedures at the Desai Sethi Medical Center. This position also provides guidance to other scheduling staff and ensures timely, accurate scheduling practices.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain pre‑authorizations for procedures as required by insurance companies.
• Produce, oversee, and distribute surgical and procedural schedules to physicians and departments.
• Collaborate with patients, families, staff, and providers to arrange surgeries, pre‑op physicals, and testing.
• Coordinate with hospitals and vendors for special cases or unique circumstances.
• Identify opportunities to streamline the scheduling process and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant scheduling experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software.
