Supply Technician - NAWDC GT

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Supply Technician for the Naval Air Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NAWDC) General Test (GT) program. The technician requisitions aircraft parts, engines and support equipment for aircraft under contract to Amentum, using SM&R codes to identify part sources and maintenance levels, and prepares supply documentation for repairable items.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inventory of decentralized, decontrolled items (supplies and equipment) with low unit or annual demand value, short procurement lead time and stable demand patterns.
• Handle requirements determination and forecasting, distribution or redistribution of material, procurement authorization and limited funds management.
• Perform material coordination for special programs, maintenance or production shops, and write item descriptions for new items, checking existing catalogs and drawings for duplicates.
• Work within established supply regulations, policies and procedures, and deal with operating officials and commercial or government representatives about new items and procurement lead times.
• Comply with OPNAVINST 4790.2, NAVAIRINST 3710.1 series and Amentum site procedures, and with OSHA and Amentum safety rules.

Required profile

• At least three years of recent experience requisitioning, receiving, storing, issuing and handling supplies and equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government clearance (US citizenship required; honorable discharge required for former military personnel).
• Ability to work all assigned shifts and schedules, and to meet physical demands such as walking, climbing stairs and lifting 50 lbs.
• Preferred: overall knowledge of a complete supply system, including research, stock control, demand processing, issuing, storage and handling.
