Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Space & Defense group is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join its team in Blacksburg, Virginia. Reporting to the Supplier Quality Manager, you will work onsite to ensure supplier performance meets Moog’s high standards for quality, reliability, and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct supplier audits and maintain ongoing supplier ratings.
• On‑board new suppliers and manage the qualification process.
• Engage with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Perform supplier risk assessments and minimize internal risks related to incoming inspections.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address scheduling and performance challenges.
• Travel up to 25% annually, including occasional short‑notice domestic and international trips.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or a two‑year technical degree with at least five years of quality/machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience working in a team‑based manufacturing setting.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Preferred experience in identifying, evaluating, and developing new suppliers.
• Preferred experience in resolving quality, scheduling, and performance issues.
