About the role
Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer Co‑Op to join its Supplier Engineering Team in Danvers. The role supports manufacturing defect standardization, product development, and supply‑chain improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Support standardization of manufacturing defect characterization at incoming inspection to reduce long‑term defect occurrence.
- Assist product development projects and act as liaison for new supplier requirements.
- Drive capacity projects, manage component obsolescence, and lead second‑source risk mitigation.
- Lead analysis of defective components in Incoming Inspection and work with vendors to resolve issues.
- Manage supplier process validation activities using a risk‑based approach and implement continuous improvement within the supply chain.
Required profile
- Student pursuing a Master’s or Undergraduate (Senior or Junior) degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, supplier management, and planning.
- Familiarity with lean, six sigma, kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, communicate clearly, and execute without direct supervision.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Experience applying risk‑based validation approaches.
