Supplier Development Engineer, Composites

About the role

Join BETA Technologies to lead the development and performance improvement of key composite suppliers supporting electric aviation production. You will assess supplier capabilities, drive issue resolution, and ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and scalability requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and performance improvement of composite suppliers, including capability assessments and capacity planning.
• Drive resolution of high‑impact quality and delivery issues, execute recovery plans, and conduct root‑cause analysis for defects such as porosity and delamination.
• Conduct supplier audits, process reviews, and ensure compliance with special processes and quality systems.
• Support new product introduction by qualifying suppliers, performing first‑article inspections, and ramping to production rates.
• Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and implement focused improvement actions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive experience in supplier development, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or supply chain in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead supplier recovery, cross‑functional issue resolution, and risk management.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, process validation, and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• U.S. person status required due to export control regulations.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Composite manufacturing processes: layup, curing, bonding, machining, finishing.
• Root‑cause analysis and data‑driven KPI management.
