Supervisor, Simulation Technologist

About the role

The University of Miami Gordon Center for Simulation and Innovation in Medical Education is seeking a full‑time Supervisor of Simulation Technologists. This leader will oversee the technical operation of simulation‑based education and training, ensuring reliable, high‑quality learning experiences for healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of simulation technologists, providing orientation, training, performance evaluation, and technical guidance.
• Oversee daily simulation operations, including setup, calibration, and operation of high‑fidelity simulators, task trainers, and audiovisual systems.
• Manage audiovisual recording, streaming, and debriefing infrastructure, coordinating with IT and network partners.
• Execute advanced technical tasks such as scenario programming, real‑time troubleshooting, and post‑session environment restoration.
• Collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to develop, test, and refine simulation‑based curricula aligned with learning objectives and accreditation standards.
• Serve as primary liaison with simulation vendors, handling software updates, system enhancements, and new technology implementation.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising technical staff in a simulation or medical education environment.
• Strong ability to mentor and promote best practices in simulation technology and instructional design.
• Excellent collaboration skills with faculty, instructional designers, and IT teams.
