Supervisor, Patient Access (On‑Site)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Supervisor of Patient Access to lead the on‑site registration team. This role ensures smooth patient flow, accurate financial clearance, and a welcoming environment for all visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information for patient accounts.
• Orient, train, evaluate, and monitor registration staff using positive reinforcement.
• Ensure staff adherence to all policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Plan and schedule staffing to meet daily patient volume expectations.
• Communicate patient flow issues to management and address performance concerns.
• Explain consent for treatment, financial liability, and HIPAA regulations to patients.
• Collect outstanding balances, run end‑of‑day reports, and manage fund deposits.
• Identify and recommend process improvements for registration efficiency.
• Monitor key performance indicators such as patient satisfaction, co‑pay collection, and denial rates.

Required profile

• Experience supervising front‑end revenue cycle or clinic support operations.
• Strong ability to anticipate patient volume and adjust staffing accordingly.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and healthcare team members.
• Commitment to compliance with university policies, HIPAA, and financial regulations.
• Proven track record of performance management and staff development.
