Supervisor, Patient Access – On‑Site (Full‑time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Supervisor of Patient Access for its UHealth facility in Fort Lauderdale. This on‑site leader will manage the Tier 1 registration team, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate revenue‑cycle operations across hospital and practice locations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily business and clinical support operations for the assigned location.
• Anticipate patient volume, monitor flow, and adjust staffing to maintain efficient service.
• Obtain, verify, and enter demographic, insurance, and financial information for patient accounts.
• Train, orient, evaluate, and coach registration staff using positive reinforcement.
• Ensure compliance with university policies, internal controls, and HIPAA regulations.
• Communicate patient‑flow issues to management and initiate performance‑management actions.
• Collect outstanding balances, run end‑of‑day reports, and manage fund deposits.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance registration efficiency.
• Track key performance indicators such as patient satisfaction, co‑pay collection, and denial rates.

Required profile

• Experience supervising front‑end revenue‑cycle or registration teams in a healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of patient demographic and insurance verification processes.
• Ability to enforce policies, manage performance issues, and drive team productivity.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
