About the role
The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Supervisor of Ophthalmic Imaging to lead a team of photographers and echographers in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The role ensures efficient patient flow, high‑quality imaging, and compliance with clinical standards.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day direction to ophthalmic photographers and echographers.
- Adjust daily schedules based on patient appointments, staffing levels, and clinic flow.
- Respond to clinical and patient demands to maintain efficient staff utilization.
- Prepare staffing assignments, including accommodations for research study patients.
- Supervise and perform ophthalmic imaging evaluations as needed.
- Manage equipment maintenance, software upgrades, purchase requests, installations, retirements, inventory, and capital planning.
- Maintain understanding of clinical information systems supporting technical functions.
- Oversee interview, hiring, and onboarding of new imaging staff.
- Mentor staff, identify training needs, and provide competency training.
- Monitor staff productivity, performance goals, and compliance with university policies.
Required profile
- Associate degree in a relevant field.
- Certification OCT‑C and CRA.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant ophthalmic imaging experience.
- Knowledge of business and management principles.
