Superintendent

About the role

F.H. Paschen, a construction company with over 115 years of experience, is hiring a Superintendent. The role oversees all field operations at a project jobsite, schedules and coordinates subcontractors and trade employees, and takes an active part in corporate safety and quality programs.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day project site operations and maintain discipline at the jobsite
• Develop a site-specific safety plan, follow OSHA guidance and enforce corporate safety, quality and production programs
• Plan and supervise area and trade superintendents and assistant superintendents for self-performing work, and determine methods, manpower, materials and equipment
• Coordinate work with trades, subcontractors and contractors, resolve construction problems and hold on-site meetings with them, owners and tradesmen
• Verify material and equipment deliveries, coordinate sequencing and schedule work to meet completion dates
• Maintain project documentation including JHAs, QC checklists, daily reports, material quantities, photos and as-built drawings, and monitor subcontractor progress
• Prepare look-ahead schedules, CPM schedules and requests for information, identify change orders and back charges, and liaise with owners, owner occupants, representatives and designers

Required profile

• Four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent technical training and construction experience
• At least two years of diverse supervisory experience
• OSHA 30 certification required
• Ability to walk jobsites, sit, bend, reach and lift up to 50 pounds

Required skills

• Advanced understanding of production methods, construction processes and scheduling, and cost control
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Leadership, communication, planning and organizational skills
