Summer 2027 Human Factors Engineering Intern

About the role

Stryker is looking for a Human Factors Engineering intern for its Emergency Care business in Washington (Redmond). The intern contributes to the design and development of products, working in cross-functional product design and development teams to champion user perspectives and help build intuitive, safe and effective products. The internship is onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct human factors analyses and usability testing, including planning, running and reporting studies
• Apply human performance data to real-world product design recommendations
• Learn the design, development and documentation processes for medical devices
• Collaborate with partners in interaction design, industrial design, engineering, quality and marketing

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree (Master's preferred) in Human Factors Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Cognitive Psychology or a related field
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, verified at time of hire
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. and does not need sponsorship now or in the future
• Interest in product development (medical device design preferred), user research and usability testing
• Understanding of biomechanics, human performance and/or cognitive processing models

Required skills

• Research and experimental design for usability testing and user research
• Data analysis (qualitative and quantitative)
• Oral and written communication

What we offer

• Pay of $20 per hour, up to $35 maximum, plus a sign-on bonus
