Summer 2027 Global Finance Intern

About the role

Assurant's Global Finance Internship Program is a 12-week immersive experience in Atlanta, running May 17 to August 7, 2027, with two days per week in the office. It gives students hands-on exposure to Accounting, Business Finance, Tax, Investments, Internal Audit & Analytics, Vendor Management or Actuarial, with a capstone presentation to leadership at the end. Interns are placed in functional teams based on interests, coursework and business need, and high performers may be considered for future full-time roles.

Key responsibilities

• Support financial analysis, reporting, forecasting and reconciliation
• Take part in month-end close and audit preparation
• Analyze structured data and build dashboards, financial models and KPI reports
• Research, synthesize findings and present recommendations
• Work with cross-functional teams and present project outcomes in the capstone

Tracks include: Accounting (financial reporting, audit support, balance sheet reconciliation); Finance (planning, forecasting, expense management, client profitability); Vendor Management (vendor risk oversight, regulatory research); Internal Audit & Analytics (risk-based audits, SQL and Power BI); Tax (state and local compliance); Investments (portfolio analytics, risk assessment); Actuarial (pricing, reserving, forecasting).

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Actuarial Science/Mathematics or a related field, with at least one semester remaining
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2029
• Work authorization in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship; F-1 visa holders who need sponsorship are not eligible

Required skills

• Basic Excel skills; willingness to develop advanced Excel and Power BI skills
• Strong written and verbal communication and analytical mindset
• Ability to organize and interpret structured data
• Preferred: pivot tables, lookups, data cleaning, dashboards and KPIs, SQL, understanding of financial statements, PowerPoint presentation skills, progress toward CPA/CFA/ACAS
