Shared Service Specialist

About the role

Assurant is looking for a Shared Service Specialist in Atlanta to support the printing, balancing, reconciliation and quality review of hazard, claims and loss draft checks. The role ensures the accuracy of check production files, maintains records, prepares reports and follows established procedures and controls. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm EST.

Key responsibilities

• Print hazard, claims and loss draft checks for various clients according to schedules and procedures.
• Review and validate check production files before processing, and balance and reconcile daily check files.
• Verify check totals, sequence numbers and payment information before release, and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of printed checks and associated documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, security procedures and client requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve processing issues and meet deadlines.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation reports and assist with quality control reviews.
• Support audit requests with documentation and reporting, and handle confidential customer and financial information securely.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of processing experience.
• Good organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good oral and written communication skills and professional etiquette.

Required skills

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
