Substitute School Nurse

About the role
The Substitute School Nurse will treat students for medical issues, help prevent physical issues and disease, and coordinate routine health assessments.
Key responsibilities
- Provide professional medical treatment and emergency aid to students and staff.
- Manage prescription drug regimens and maintain clinical records.
- Detect early physical problems, conduct health evaluations, and coordinate vision, hearing, and orthopedic screenings.
- Promote disease prevention, health‑education, and immunization programs.
- Assist teachers with health and nutrition education.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse (RN) certification and a current nursing license.
- Experience working in a clinical setting preferred.
- Ability to sit at a desk, stand for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Required skills
- Knowledge of community agencies to support students and families.
- Familiarity with district policies and procedures.
