About the role
The Student Support Services Tutor works directly with participants of the Student Support Services program across multiple campuses, providing academic assistance and test preparation. Reporting to the Tutor Coordinator, the tutor serves as a role model and helps students develop strategies for college success.
Key responsibilities
- Meet weekly with program participants on their respective campuses.
- Assist students with developmental and college‑level coursework.
- Provide test preparation support and academic coaching.
- Model effective study habits and success strategies.
Required profile
- Earned an “A” or “B” grade in the course(s) to be tutored.
- Excellent communication skills and sensitivity to economically, educationally disadvantaged and disabled students.
- Preferably shares a background similar to the target student population.
- Current or former participant in Student Support Services is preferred.

- Hourly wage of $13.
