Student Intern – Public Health & Environmental Justice

About the role

The Central California Asthma Collaborative (CCAC) seeks a motivated Student Intern to support process improvements, daily operations, and innovative projects across public health, environmental justice, and community engagement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist day‑to‑day operations and team projects, collaborating with staff on assigned tasks.
• Support research, data collection, and organization using industry tools and statistical software.
• Communicate updates clearly with supervisors and team members.
• Perform additional duties as needed to advance CCAC’s mission.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in public health, environmental studies, data science, computer science, communications, social sciences, or a related field.
• Experience with public health, environmental health, community engagement, data analysis, research, outreach, or communications through coursework, volunteer work, internships, or employment.
• Valid California driver’s license and auto insurance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Experience with Canva, Adobe, and statistical software such as R, SAS, or Python.
