About the role
The State of Georgia, through Columbus Technical College, is seeking a dedicated Student Affairs Specialist to support prospective and current students during key registration periods. This full‑time role combines front‑desk reception, admissions processing, and student advising to ensure a smooth academic experience.
Key responsibilities
- Assist students, faculty, and staff throughout the admissions process.
- Serve as the front‑desk receptionist and answer community inquiries via phone and email.
- Conduct information sessions for prospective students and communicate admission decisions.
- Process early registration, open registration, and drop/add periods, providing guidance to students.
- Interpret transcripts, make acceptance decisions, and manage new student applications.
- Support faculty with registration, advisement, and academic issues.
- Collaborate with other departments on special activities as needed.
Required profile
- Associate degree in a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in a post‑secondary admissions or registrar office is preferred.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Banner software for student information management.
