Structures Design Engineer – Advanced Concepts

About the role

As a Structures Design Engineer on the Advanced Systems team, you will develop primary and secondary airframe components for cutting‑edge electric aircraft, taking concepts through to flight test. The role is based in South Burlington, VT with hybrid work options.

Key responsibilities

• Develop metallic, composite, and hybrid airframe components and create 3‑D CAD models, drawings, and controlled definitions.
• Translate requirements, loads, interfaces, and manufacturing constraints into practical structural designs.
• Perform preliminary sizing, hand calculations and collaborate with Stress engineers to mature designs.
• Support design reviews, product release, manufacturing, build, and test issue resolution.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams including Stress, Loads, Aerodynamics, Materials, Systems, Manufacturing, and suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of aircraft structural design or aerospace product‑development experience.
• US Person status.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CATIA, 3DEXPERIENCE, or comparable CAD environment.
• Working knowledge of load paths, structural sizing, composite and metallic design, joints, fasteners, GD&T, and configuration control.
