Structural Engineer, Propulsion

About the role

Join BETA Technologies to develop propulsion system components for electric aircraft, from concept to certified product. You will optimize designs for performance, weight, and robustness while driving rapid design‑to‑validation cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and challenge boundary conditions from interfacing groups.
• Perform hand calculations and FEA to ensure product integrity at minimum weight.
• Document analyses for internal reviews and certification.
• Define and support coupon/specimen or bench tests for validation.
• Develop test plans for full engine tests on stands or aircraft.
• Collaborate with design, systems, and certification teams to ensure efficient, certifiable products.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical structure analysis (static, bolted joints, fatigue, rotordynamics, modal).
• Proficiency with FEA tools, preferably ANSYS Workbench.
• Methodical, rigorous, and able to guide design teams.
• Strong communication, leadership, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with Catia 3DX or equivalent and tolerancing requirements.
