Strategy and Operations Associate

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Strategy and Operations Associate to join its Global Operations team within the reinsurance business. The role is based in New York and is hybrid, with at least three days a week in the office. It partners with cross-functional teams to assess current-state workflows, find inefficiencies and implement practical, scalable solutions, turning complex operational challenges into structured project plans.

Key responsibilities

• Support the identification, prioritization and execution of operational improvement initiatives across the reinsurance value chain
• Assist with current-state assessments and gap analyses, recommending actionable solutions
• Develop structured project plans, track milestones and coordinate stakeholders to deliver work on time and within scope
• Help design and implement process reengineering, including workflow redesigns, SOPs and operational playbooks
• Support change management, including stakeholder engagement, training materials and adoption tracking
• Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends and support decisions
• Prepare briefing materials, business review decks, status reports and presentations for senior leadership

Required profile

• 2-5 years of professional experience in management consulting, preferably at a Big Four firm or specialized boutique consultancy
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science or a closely related field
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop hypotheses and drive data-backed recommendations
• Experience in financial services, insurance or reinsurance is a plus

Required skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
• Project management and stakeholder coordination in a matrixed environment
• Data analysis and visualization with Excel, Power BI and SQL
• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, automation and digital workflows; Python, R or other scripting languages are a plus
