Private Capital / Education Engagement Manager

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Private Equity team in North America is hiring consultants to support its rapid growth, working with private equity investors from opportunity identification through due diligence and post-transaction value realization. Engagement Managers are the on-scene leaders who run projects day to day, leading and executing due diligence and/or post-transaction engagements for private equity funds and their portfolio companies. The practice covers Financial Services, Communication, Media & Technology, Education Services, Industrials and Healthcare.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute due diligence and post-transaction engagements for private equity funds and portfolio companies.
• Ensure findings are insightful and data-driven, with thought leadership at a strategic level and command of technical and operational details.
• Build strong relationships and communicate clearly with clients and team members.

Required profile

• Professional experience with commercial and operational due diligence in a management consulting firm.
• Experience working across or within industries serving private equity clients, such as FinTech, InsurTech, CMT, Education, Industrials and Healthcare.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a strong academic program.
• Fluent in English.

• Customer research techniques (interviews, surveys, focus groups).
• Strategic problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
