About the role

The Department of ePMO–Performance Excellence at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Storytelling Specialist to transform complex data into clear, compelling visual narratives for senior leadership and Board audiences. This on‑site role focuses on designing high‑impact presentations and dashboards that support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Create executive‑ready PowerPoint presentations and visual stories for the Board of Trustees, President, and C‑suite.
• Design and maintain templates, style guides, and visual assets that align with university branding and accessibility standards.
• Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using modern tools such as Beautiful.ai, Prezi, Canva, or Pitch.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and subject‑matter experts to translate data into concise, impactful visuals under tight deadlines.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with university policies for all executive‑facing materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, design, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years of experience creating presentations and visual narratives for executive or Board‑level audiences.
• Portfolio demonstrating executive‑focused visual storytelling.
• Experience in higher‑education operations, strategic planning, or institutional reporting is preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one modern presentation tool (Beautiful.ai, Prezi, Canva, Pitch).
• Familiarity with board‑level platforms such as OnBoard, BoardEffect, or Diligent.
• Strong knowledge of data‑visualization best practices, color theory, and accessibility standards.
