Storeroom Clerk

About the role

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is hiring a Storeroom Clerk. The role covers receiving and storing supplies, maintaining inventory, keeping storage areas clean and safe, and delivering goods to hospital sites and retail locations. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Complete and maintain job performance requirements set by department procedures.
• Assist in ordering foods, paper products, chemicals and other items according to menus, recipes, catering and events.
• Inventories all areas on a weekly basis.
• Put away and receive deliveries, deliver floor stock on site and off site, and maintain sanitation of coolers, freezers and dry storage.
• Label, date and rotate products, following HACCP procedures for food storage.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment at the end of each shift and report spoiled food or defective supplies.
• Drive the department vehicle to satellite units and retail locations safely, including vehicle checks and refueling.
• Maintain department goals for Press Ganey (95), health inspections (minimum 90) and quarterly Gold Check (minimum 90).

Required profile

• Current Texas driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Stockroom experience in a foodservice operation or equivalent experience preferred.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and use hand jacks, pallet jacks and dollies; work in a warehouse setting with varying noise and temperature.
• Position is security-sensitive and subject to a criminal history check.
