Store Coordinator - Grocery

About the role

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, part of Meijer, is looking for a Store Coordinator for its grocery store on East 3rd Street in Bloomington. The Coordinator plans, directs and supervises team members in the day-to-day operations of their department, delivering customer service through ordering, receiving, stocking and displaying products while maintaining cleanliness and food safety.

Key responsibilities

• Help schedule staff, take part in hiring and promote succession planning and career paths
• Support disciplinary actions and recommend discharge decisions
• Meet P&L budgeted goals, including sales, labor and margin plans
• Review sales goals, supply costs, stock loss and shrink results
• Review customer surveys and feedback, and provide customer advice on products
• Prepare, package, stock and display merchandise correctly, ensure price-change compliance and order manual items
• Supervise and train the department team in the manager's absence: stock, wash, bundle and trim products, remove out-of-code items, keep prices accurate, keep the backroom tidy and ensure safe work
• Maintain ServSafe certification and complete all required training

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of related retail experience
• 1 year of management experience
• Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus
• Reliable, consistent attendance

Required skills

• ServSafe certification
• Ability to communicate clearly, resolve conflicts, manage multiple tasks and analyze financial and statistical information
• Ability to consult with customers and mentor team members
